“Det ville Lofoten”, (Wild and Wonderful Lofoten) is about the Lofoten nature – what we see, hear, smell, and sense around us.
The book is filled with 600 color photos taken by the author himself, Robert Walker. You can read about how Lofoten came to be, about the mountains, the sea, the forest and the fields, the water and the wetlands, the outer sea, the animal and bird life, the plant life, the seasons, etc.
Robert Walker is originally from Leeds in England but has lived in Lofoten for almost 40 years.
The book is the result of the author's love for nature and the in-depth knowledge gathered about Lofoten over a period of almost four decades.
The text is in Norwegian and English and alternates between purely academic text, and beautiful, almost poetic pieces about the author's own experience of nature.
